PCG – the body that represents freelancers in the UK – used advertising to energise a campaign aimed at abolishing a piece of employment legislation, IR35. First we had to raise the overall profile of PCG amongst politicians and key influencers: Britain’s Brain Gain helped establish the wider benefit freelancers deliver to the UK economy supported by some advertising. We then talked about the specific tax issue alongside political lobbying and in doing so have helped ensure that this piece of legislation will be abolished by the Coalition in the first parliament.
